I feel like that Bugs Bunny/Daffy Duck bit where they think there are no more bullets. Apparently last week’s comic wasn’t the last one from my list. Pretty sure this is.

The website I had to use to read this is a royal pain, by the way. Everytime I click to go to the next page some other tab opens up and I have to close it. This is why I don’t like using scan sites. Hopefully nothing’s going on my computer I don’t want, but it’s sad that this comic is so obscure this is the only site I could find it on. I rather enjoyed the last Ultraduck comic I read. Still, here we go.
This is a series of events that lead to the second Ultraduck series, I think. We see Ultraduck training with…I think his name is Omegus or something, but I’m not that knowledgeable in the series unfortunately, and Ultraduck keeps referring to him by his regular name, plus a discussion about how similar their outfits are. I’m not going back to that site to find out for certain. At any rate, the rooster he’s training with is worried someone might be coming for the gloves that are the source of Ultraduck’s power.
Sometime later, a group of thugs try to take over a nightclub where Ultraduck’s friend Lisa works at, and Ultraduck has saved in the past. With Ultraduck doing some stuff in Paris, and later we see him at a volcano stopping an eruption, Lisa uses some costumes and a handheld stun gun to fight them off, pretending to be Dyna Duck. Later she decides to take the job offer in another town. The final event has the not-“Ultrarooster” set off something on the moon…and apparently something answered, while a group who may or may not be baddies prepares for a potential invasion.
I really want to check out this series properly. The writing is good, the characters interesting, the hero heroic without being perfect, and the art if amazing. Plus we have a Free Comic Book Day comic that teases the proper series while giving us a good stand-alone adventure, even if Ultraduck is only in part of it. This is one of those comics that makes want to get back into collecting comics.
Okay, NOW we’re done with this year’s Free Comic Book Day. This time next week…something else. Check Sunday’s update or just the return of “Yesterday’s” Comic to Tuesday, with the first step of the new-ish direction for this article series. As for Today’s Comic, if I get new comics again, I’ll bring that back. I only used scans here because the comics were free, but I don’t like using scan sites on the regular if other options exist or its in public domain. Physical comics are better, but between money and space issues, and being unable to go to this year’s FCBD, this is what I had to do.
