Silver Sun is the state appointed protector of the people of Argentina, but he doesn’t remember his past. We see his daily routine, learn he has a small barely furnished apartment, and kind of meet his dispatcher, Bianca. At night when she’s off duty, he’s attacked by two members of the Horde, a group of supervillains who manage to wound him before he chases one off and arrests the other. The one he arrests keeps hinting to something that may be a negative part of the hero’s past, and after he leaves to tend his wounds, he’s not there when the Horde comes to rescue their comrade, one of his being his brother-in-law.
What they got right: The goal of the creators was to give their native Argentina a hero of their own, and they came up with a good one. I like his costume and powers (superstrength, durability but not invulnerability given the wounds he sustains against Beast and Greenie, and apparently generating heat from his hands). The villains and the amnesia subplot are also interesting.
What they got wrong: A few bits of dialog may not be edited or translated correctly. There’s one where a word is broken up to clearly fit in the word balloon, which maybe a result of translation. I don’t speak Spanish.
What I think overall: This is was a good first issue. This is an interesting hero I may want to check out more in the future.
