Wanting to get away from the press as Lela does an interview with Ultra Magazine, Vurk finds himself under attack by some dude with a harmonica. He has powers and weapons that can hurt his people, the Darkurians (which we see at the start of the story when he stops two from attacking an innocent woman). It takes being held off by security at the amusement park they ran into each other at for “Harmonica” (which is what Vurk calls him) to listen to Vurk say he’s one of the good guys now and his own people want to off him first. Aera comes to the rescue, having been told by Lela to put a tracker on them. Later that night, the Solution meets with Regina and the people they’ll be working with on this assignment. They aren’t happy about working with others, even if those others are Hardcase and Choice.
I know we have superhero names for these characters but I can’t be bothered to remember them and they aren’t used here. This is just an excuse to have a fight, so good thing the fights are pretty good. As to what any of this has to do with Hardcase and Choice, we’ll have to wait until Hardcase #7, which I should be getting to next week.
On the plus side, this annoyed me less than last issue. Not as gory, though I guess that has to do with the Darkurians not have as much insides to rip out, being shapeshifters. I couldn’t tell you because I still know nothing about these enemies and frankly I don’t care. One more “essential” to look at down the road and I still think I’m going to be done with this series.
