Some people just don’t want to solve anything.

The Solution #4

Malibu Comics/Ultraverse (December, 1993)

“Racing To The Moon”

WRITER: James D. Hudnall

PENCILER: Darick Robertson

INKER: Barb Kaalberg

COLORING: Moose Baumann & Violent Hues

LETTERER: Tim Eldred

EDITOR: Hank Kanalz

The Solution, along with Hardcase and Choice, are racing Rex Mundi’s forces to the moon. The two forces meet in a space battle, while one of the villains places a nanovirus on the heroes’ ship. Now they aren’t just racing the bad guys but the slow destruction of their own ship. Then something explodes.

And that’s all that happens. It’s just one big space battle with a few moments of bonding at the start. The problem is the space battle is boring. I guess someone doesn’t know how to make Zero-G combat look exciting, or maybe it’s just all the characters involved. I also missed the part where they tried to communicate with Amber or this whole thing has just been that uninteresting. So far only what Prime and Night Man have been up to have really been all that interesting to me.

Overall, it’s not a bad comic but there’s not much here. Whether that’s the crossover’s fault or not you’ll have to decide, but I’m still not invested in this series. Next time we have the other side of Break-Thru so maybe this will all end soon.
