I tried reading this on the Amazon Kindle browser reader and I guess they stopped using the ComiXology software. I couldn’t zoom in, couldn’t use the panel feature…why did they buy ComiXology? I had to go to the sites I get the Ultraverse comics from so I could read it.

A new entry is added to the Phantom Chronicles. Poachers arrive in Bangalla, killing a local rare tiger, and now it’s mate is after the poaches. The Phantom waits to see what the men will do next, but only one proves honorable, unhappy about what they did but needing to make a living. The Phantom gives that man a chance to escape and talks down the tiger. “The Phantom’s cold fury chills even a tiger’s blood” according to an old jungle saying, but the Phantom didn’t believe it…until today. Too bad his attempt to get some sleep after the entry is done is interrupted by something crashing in the jungle.
What they got right: I really like the art. The Phantom does not kill, but nothing says he can’t let the villains’ own karma get the better of them. If they turned out to be decent men and heeded his warning they would have been allowed to escape and repent. Only one of the party was such a man. I’m okay with this.
What they got wrong: Did the Phantom just interrupt one thought with another…in prose? That’s kind of weird considering these are this thoughts AFTER the incident.
What I think overall: If this preview is any indication, and good on them for a done-in-one story teasing the first issue, this could be a good run for the Ghost Who Walks. Hope I get to find out someday.
