Someone needs to teach the new Geek-Girl how to fly high enough to not run into people.

With the original Geek-Girl in a coma, a girl named Summer is taking care of the glasses as a substitute Geek-Girl. She’s very much a rookie, though Pitbull is trying to train her. Meanwhile, the original hero’s friends are ostracizing one of her other friends, and Summer has to worry what will happen if she doesn’t come out of her coma. Oh, and there’s also a bank robbery by a dude with a pig head for a third of his face.

I’m sorry, but I really don’t care about any of these characters. I’ve read one Geek-Girl comic and it’s still lame how she got her powers (got the inventor drunk and won a strip poker game, which they recall in the comic along with mentioning a lesbian make-out). There’s a lot of recalling past events but while the comic tries to show us Summer’s struggles, I find her more interesting than the girl surrounded by her snobby “friends”, and the villain is…a dude with a pig face sewn onto his skull.

In other words, I’m not really invested with this comic. It has some good ideas but they go off in weird direction, you clearly need to have read and liked previous stories to care about the events recanted, and while I want to like Summer I’m not given enough to keep interested. I’m just not into this series.
