Johnny is still trying to shake off Rhiannon’s spell, even rejecting the advances of two hotties at the gym. Learning from his dad that Peters is buying up the beach around the amusement park as part of his plan to kill it, the Night Man goes to confront him, and learns that Peters is allegedly a fan. Then the Night Man is attacked by TNTNT, because Hunt is not over trying to kill him and wants his team to make up for their failure against the Strangers. Using the fog to his advantage, the Night Man takes them down one by own. Meanwhile, the FCC is trying to find his pirate radio operation.
What they got right: Watching the Night Man strategically take the bad guys down and updating his outfit after each fight shows that there’s more to his abilities than the shrapnel that allows him to hear evil thoughts.
What they got wrong: Did Englehart have a ghostwriter on this or something? When did Hunt get an accent, and the accent on some of the TNTNT members (still hate that name) are also annoying. The art is slipping into everything wrong about 90s comic art. Now he and at least one of his sons is all about world domination.
What I think overall: A stand-alone after the arcs is welcome but the comic we get isn’t very good and not really up to the standards of the series thus far.
