We’ll go through this quick because the stories don’t exactly take long. Trying to shove three stories into a normal sized comic will do that. Robo-Robotnik takes advantage of Knuckles’ attempts to restore Echnidnapolis to pull the original Robotnik back from the other side, or wherever he got sent. Together they set up a trap, together they fail, and because of how he was brought in the effect reverses and he gets sent back. In short, hardly anything of consequence happened. It’s like someone said “it would be interesting to have the two Archiverse Robotnik’s team up” and didn’t have much of a plan after that but went with it anyway.

Our second tale is just as pointless. Hope wants to stay with the Mobians rather than join the other Overlanders in Station Square. She tells her story about coming back to the planet and becoming an orphan, just in case this is somebody’s first issue I guess. Her wish is granted but I don’t see what she can add to the story. She’s maybe 10 at best while the gang is in their late teens or adults. Even Tails would be mid teens by this point and Cream is a long ways off. Why have her here? I’m guessing she’s based on Karl’s daughter or niece or something.

As for Knuckles, after learning his mom is pregnant, he attends a meeting trying to reclamate the Dark Legion with the echidnas. Knuckles’ time-traveling daughter arrives just as Constable Remington starts shooting. I can barely care about this story from week to week given how little page space it has to move forward and this was supposed to keep readers interested from month to month?

Overall I feel like I wasted my time reading this issue. There’s nothing of substance here. Penders seems to be the only one who actually has a story to tell, and that requires practically ignoring the video games, and we know that this will all end poorly. I can see why I dropped this comic a second time, and I’m wishing past me would hurry up and do it already.
