Lucky for Austin he manages to change back before his roommate enters the room. The next day he starts his new job, which isn’t quite what he hoped he would, scanning old paper records into the computer. (My mom had that job before she got sick. It doesn’t sound too bad.) He also gets the attention of the cute woman next door, Lynn. On the way home he’s unable to give a homeless man any money but he is able to save him from a demon who earlier in the issue broke through the barrier. Running to the apartment, Austin grabs the sword and transforms again, a voice advising him as he kills the monster. Is this the same sword the fanatic says will close the breach? As Austin tries to figure out how to explain the apartment and dead demon to his roommates, someone else, human this time, bursts in and attacks an untransformed Austin. He hesitates when the voice says to kill the intruder…who notices a picture on the wall and knows Austin’s brother.
What they got right: The mystery is getting more interesting. There’s some good action scenes.
What they got wrong: For an indie comic I don’t have any serious complaints.
What I think overall: Drive Thru Comics has one more issue listed, but it isn’t currently a freebee and I’m still in negative income, so I won’t be able to read it for awhile. Hopefully the story ends there because so far I’m enjoying it and would be sad to see there’s no ending for it.
