Due to necessity of being in “speed mode” again, the original review doesn’t say much. So welcome to a brand new and proper review of the comic.

Tikhaos is going wild through the city. The Dark Presence joins the heroes rather than Shadow’s madness, but it takes the combination of Sonic, Silver, Sonic and Sally’s kids, Mina and Tails’ kids, and Antoine and Bunnie’s kids to weaken her long enough for Lara-Su to cast the spell that restores Tikal to something close to normal. (She still has some of the Chaos coloring on her head so I’m assuming they’re still merged on some level.) Silver returns to his own time and Sonic congratulates the next generation of Freedom Fighter. However, back in what I assume is the normal timeline, a Doctor Finitevus has an unknown ally and they’re both gunning for Knuckles. I’ll just assume he mattered in the Sonic The Hedgehog comics I missed out on.

What they got right: This is a better torch passing. We get to see Sonic at least, later joined by Tails and Mina, together in battle again while Sally directs, Silver in action again, but we also get to see the next generation of heroes in action. There’s a connection between Antoine’s son Jaques and Mina’s daughter Melody that might have been interesting to see develop had there been more stories in this timeline.

What they got wrong: Of course it would have been nice to see the other Chaotix and we’ll never learned what happened to Shadow in this period, but could they have fit any more characters into this story? Possibly not. I put this here because I feel sorry if none of your favorites made it here to see what they’re up to. The real “got wrong” is that this is the last I saw of this timeline before I dropped the Sonic comics after the Mega Man crossover.

What I think overall: This was a good four-part adventure outside of normal Sonic continuity. Too bad they never returned.
