Aladdin had the body of Glare but some scientists brought him back to life because they’re idiots. As he rampages through the base, Bob manages to get Jimmy there and call his ex-wife to study Jimmy. Bob puts on his Ranger armor and battles Glare but in the end it’s Jimmy’s ultra power that takes the monster down. Yes, it turns out Jimmy was an Ultra this whole time, and Leland was using him to power the Prototype armor via implanted circuitry in Jimmy’s body, a project that was just starting when Felicia left Ultratech. Now he needs the armor just to control the energy flow or he spontaneously bursts with energy. That means Jimmy and Bob are going back to get it.
What they got right: This is an interesting revelation. There’s more to Jimmy Ruiz that originally thought and it should be interesting to see what happens with that, and his unborn son.
What they got wrong: Glare is kind of a bland villain. He’s superstrong and can blind you…and he’s a big green dude. I’m not impressed even within the Ultraverse.
What I think overall: This is still a really good series for the 1990s. Even the 90s art wasn’t terrible half the time. This also explains things I remember from the Ultraforce cartoon about Jimmy’s focus episode. Curious to see what happens next.
