Years ago, Aera stole the Vorlexx, an object of great power, from the Vyr (who apparently live on Discworld) as part of her mission by her people to attack Vurk’s people. However, she realized it was too dangerous for any of them to have since every use further corrupts the user’s soul, and snuck it to Earth. Now the Vyr have found her. The Solution tries to reach the Vorlexx, hidden under a chateau in France, but are attacked by the Vyr’s hunter. Aera is forced to use the Vorlexx to stop the hunter, but its masters take her prisoner. The Solution have lost an ally, but they also have the Vorlexx, and Lela isn’t leaving a member of her team behind.
What they got right: The designs for the Vyr and their monster are fittingly creepy and dangerous.
What they got wrong: Between Aera, Vurk, and the narrator this is very exposition heavy, with not much action until near the end.
What I think overall: When paired with the next issue, maybe two, this might be better, but on its own it’s kind of lacking.
