Think about all the work put into those old Disney theatrical shorts.
I heard an ad on the radio talking about how Disney parks hired them because they didn’t want to look “Mickey Mouse”. Which is a stupid statement because the old Mickey Mouse shorts look darn good and the later color ones, in my opinion, still hold up well to this day. I’m not sure when calling something “Mickey Mouse” (like a “Mickey Mouse operation”), but considering what went into these things that should be a compliment, not a complaint.
Also I did a call-back to one of my earlier strips about “drinking the Kool-Aid” being a popular swipe at political opponents. Strip #18, one of my favorites so I guess that’s why I remembered it to reference.
