Max sees everything as marketing, doesn’t he?
I wanted to connect Jake from Adventure TIme with our Jake when I did the Adventure Time comics a few months ago but I didn’t have a good way to do so. But with the pre-con season cosplay strip I had an opening and went for it.
As it turns out, Jake & Leon and Finn & Jake respectively are similar enough from a drawing perspective. Our Jake and their Finn are mostly boxes while our Leon and their Jake are more circles in design. So the character choices were based on design rather than names, but Max wouldn’t be Max if he didn’t point out the obvious namesake angle.
