By the way their names are Robert and Raquel. I think you can guess which is which.
I needed a good gag to introduce the parents. I’m sure somebody out there has had this very situation. This is a rare comic in that Jake shows up to keep my “at least one of the title characters shows up every strip” rule but he has no dialog. It just wouldn’t have worked for this joke. I can stretch the rule a bit for the sake of the strip as long as one of them shows up.
