Remember that teaser art from when DC attempted to acquire the Transformers license? They gave Optimus the wrong ring.
I saw an article on the 30th Anniversary of Transformers: The Movie where it mentioned the death of Optimus Prime and how the kids reacted, forcing his return in the TV show. I also remembered the aforementioned concept art and the Black Lantern nonsense and the comic came together.
