With a name like “Dirk Slade”, I’m thinking dentist.
I was watching an old episode of The Spoony Experiment where he reviewed a movie whose hero was named Jackson Blade or something like that and the host made a comment about how with a name like that he had to be a badass bounty hunter former tough as nails cop. It’s a regular occurrence in 80s action movies and comics that your name seems to instantly reflect your personality and whether your a good guy or a bad guy. I also remembered an action actor named Jeff Speakman, which is not the name you usually have when you do action movies. I mean John Wayne’s real name was Marion Mitchell Morrison.
Dirk Slade is a name I created for a character in the 90s (because even I wasn’t completely immune to its effects) who, long story short, hunted super-powered bad guys. i never wrote a story for him and I’m not sure I won’t , but it just seemed to be a good name for this bit.
