Seriously, there are stories when he’s not even on the right planet!

I’m really not satisfied with this one. It’s the first time I’ve tried to draw “real world” people in years, and the first ever in this style. My friend and co-worker, Jen, and I were having a joke conversation that led to me stating I’d put her in this week’s comic, and she was cool with the idea. However, before she kills me for the way-off character model I’m hoping I can defend myself.

First of all, I’m still learning how to draw women in any style and while I’m getting better there’s still a hitch. The best way I can make my women look different from men is with long hair, eyelashes, and more defined lips. The real Jen has short hair and wears glasses. That’s two out of three cut off, and while she’s almost a tomboy (but not quite), you should still tell she’s a female. (And rather cute. If you see her, tell her I said to give her a hug. Then give her a hug, so nobody’s lying.)

Secondly, I know her head isn’t the right shape, but it’s not an easy art style to recreate real people’s facial features, at least thus far. However, I did a fair job on her husband, so…hey, I got her nose piercing right. That counts for something, right?

Yeah, I’m a dead man.

Since for this week’s posting I have 9 different comics (well, 8 comics and a “profile” book), it wasn’t easy to fit them all in the strip. So I put the comics on the shelf (not taking time to individually color each one, as I was behind schedule enough as it was) and had Jen and Tony wearing Transformers shirts (because they’re fellow Transformers fans). I don’t know if she watches Doctor Who or not, but I though it would be a good way to fit them in.
