Like Marvel doesn’t have enough of their own bad ideas.

This was the first comic I thought up for this arc, and really the one that started it. What I wanted to do with it just wouldn’t fit into three panels, and even if I didn’t have a personal rule to use Jake and/or Leon at least once per comic it still wouldn’t have worked right in four panels. And if I hadn’t thought up next week’s joke this would have finished next week.

And if your wondering why Spider-Man’s outfit looks so odd, you obviously haven’t been reading the site very long. Some time ago I created a paintshop (because I don’t use Photoshop, heh) of a Spider-Man action figure redesigned with the Charlie Brown symbol because the current Spider-Writers seem to think being unlucky is part of Peter’s “core character”. Later, they added that they want Peter to be a swinging single (get your heads out of the 70’s, guys!) which made me add the “R” that Archie used to wear on his chest. I kind of thought that up last minute, and it’s a nice homage to the site’s running gag. What you can’t see with the word balloon in the way in panel 3 is that the usual spider forms inside the “R”.
