One of the inspirations for Star Wars were old movie serials, and, yes, there were rock monsters. I looked that up in like 10 minutes.
Supposedly the writer of the High Republic book that features Geode let her boyfriend come up with the idea. “A rock” was the best he could do. I guess the joke is wondering how he gets places but when this is your NAVIGATOR and you’re promoting him as being quick, maybe show he can move?
I remembered an old sci-fi serial or b-movie rock monster that could fold itself into a rock like a prototype Rock Lords design, serials being one of the influences on Star Wars. I wonder anyone working on the property could benefit from watching those and old Kurosawa films given they’re what inspired the tone and style of the franchise in the first place?
