Could I draw a worse Alfred?

You may be looking at this strip and wondering what the hell I was thinking with the background colors. Well, this was something of a test for me, as I picked up a new version of Paint Shop (Photo) Pro, X3 in this case. It was part of a bundle they gave out on Cyber Monday that had a lot of cool stuff I can use in the future. Also, my old PSP 7 is a great program but there are some interface issues that are fixed in this newer version.

Some of the picture tubes and patterns that I’ve used on other projects aren’t here, so I’ll have to get them from my old copy and sneak them in. I could have had a much better cave wall if I had.

My only complaint thus far is that I can’t use the “color changer” tool like a paintbrush, which I could with version 7. I’ve done some good work with that, but I’ll have to work around it.

Actually, I would like to use my other acquisition, Manga Studio debut 4 to make the comics, but they don’t have a layout style (that I’ve found) that matches the Jake & Leon layout. I should be able to use it for other comic projects in the future. Hopefully, but at least it was $10 on sale.
