Modern DC heroes are becoming people I aspire NOT to be.
They made Superman a victim of abuse by terrorists, Supergirl wants to go to red sun planet alone to get drunk on her 21st birthday, and Superboy was hyperaged from a fun character to someone who would rather go to a protest rally than fight supervillains. This isn’t the DC universe I love anymore. It’s like Dan DiDio never left.
One of the things I do with this comic is art practice. I don’t think I’m going to do the eyes like this again. I can’t seem to get it right and it never looks good. I want to draw something resembling the eye socket so I can show where the characters are looking but this may be too detailed…which I’m not sure how to feel about. How minimalist is TOO minimalist?
