I hear the guy in the cutting room did the same.
The problem with using this set piece as the background is the monitor over and behind the couch. I never really use it (I think I used it twice). The idea was that the screen would descend from the celling to show a bit more during the host panel for jokes they don’t star in. For whatever reason I used if a few times in the beginning of this set design and not much since. I use the podium more than I use that monitor.
