I hear they want to do this with titles as well.
I understand it analytically. You want the most eyes on your work and you can’t decide between two different thumbnails. Or you want to see what style gets attention. Nice theory but on the viewer end I keep thinking they uploaded another video. It’s the YouTube version of a variant cover and frankly I hate it.
