“Yesterday’s” Comic> The Immortal Iron Fist (2007) #1

Danny Rand’s home renovation show was…interesting.

The cover image you see to the left is also the cover for the Comixology version of the digital trade collection of “The Last Iron Fist “story, which is where the next set of Tuesday Marvel reviews will be coming from.

Chapter By Chapter> Batman: Knightfall part 2 chapters 2 & 3

Chapter By Chapter (usually) features me reading one chapter of the selected book at a time and reviewing it as if I were reviewing an episode of a TV show or an issue of a comic. There will be spoilers if you haven’t read to the point I have, and if you’ve read further I ask that you don’t spoil anything further into the book. Think of it as read-along book club.

Part 2: Knightquest

Yep, two chapters this time. At least early in this part of the book there’s going to be a few short chapters so we’ll play it by ear. Chapter two is only two or three pages so I’m going to add that to chapter three.

Last time we finally got to learn what Jean Paul Valley’s connection to Batman is, as well as some concerns about his choosing. We can blame this one on Alfred as he pushed for Valley as back-up Batman (bat-up? nah) and while Bruce definitely needs a back-up Jean Paul will prove to be the wrong choice. That’s what makes him the true villain of the story, as we’ll see later and was already discussed in Owen Likes Comics’ video on the storyline. Spoilers there of course. No further spoilers here except for what we’ve already read up to. So let’s read the next two chapters.

BW Programming Note> Limited Sleep Edition

Superman found a cure for Bizarro’s sleep disorder.

Wish that could have worked on me the past few days. I know why I had trouble sleeping last night and I’m guessing on the two nights before. It’s a combination of afternoon naps, a weird reaction to the temperature change between seasons, and other elements. I’m hopeful for tonight but it means I don’t even have an idea for this week’s Jake & Leon. Sorry about that. I could use the practice. I also didn’t get to do anything for this week’s Clutter Report.

In unrelated news, having to manually update Twitter with each new post is getting to be a pain and I know as soon as a system gets worked out, WordPress’ parent company and Twitter are going to work something out. Meanwhile WordPress and Tumblr now have the same parent company so at least those updates work. I’m considering whether or not to open a BW related Facebook account because I don’t know if it will see any other use than marketing. I’ve disconnected my personal account since I don’t want to befriend the world and I don’t know if I can even get the auto-update to work with it. Only my family and friends would see them anyway and I already mention the site now and then, not being sure if they’re checking either BW Media Spotlight or The Clutter Reports out. They have lives, you know.

As for what’s happening here this week, I think I’ll be looking at two chapters of Batman: Knightfall part 2 tomorrow. I also may have an interview tied to the Tron 2.0 tie-in comic as we reach the last issue this week. I’m running out of this year’s Free Comic Book Day offerings for deeper review but I’m also getting near the end of my physical comic library outside of the Sonic comics from Archie, and the ComiXology library isn’t that far behind. How that will affect the daily comic reviews I haven’t determined yet.

Have a great week, everybody. Pray I get some sleep tonight.

No Saturday Night Showcase Tonight

Sorry, folks. I haven’t slept well the last half of this week and today I ended up taking an afternoon nap, or as my dad would say “nap nothing, I went to sleep”. I don’t think there’s going to be a Jake & Leon this week and I know I don’t have a Clutter Report because Saturday is my usual declutter day, but I’ll provide an update for the week anyway.
