More RSS feed catch-up. Let’s just do this already.
- Caleb of Everyday Is Like Wednesday and Blog@ Newsarama contributor voices our continued annoyance about the raised comic prices. I wonder what he thinks of Radical Publishing’s plans to sell comics at $4.99, even if they increase the page count? Or what he thinks about Joe Quesada’s latest defense of Marvel’s price increase?
- Anyone remember Comico the Comic Company? I mostly know them for the Robotech adaptations. Well, it looks like the old gang has a new project.
- Activision is seeking to create a VIP community for the release of the sequel to Marvel: Ultimate Alliance. This is the game set to take place during Marvel’s “Civil War” event, or as I call it, the beginning of the end of my ever caring about what happens in the mainline Marvel titles.
- The Weekly Crisis has started a primer for DC’s “Blackest Night“, to get us all up to speed on the Green Lantern, the Green Lantern Corps, and their recently added technicolor counterparts.
- I guess NBC’s Heroes series is fighting for ratings. Here comes the obligitory hot-girl-goes-lesbo storyline. Even the Occasional Superheroine isn’t impressed because she sees through this just like most people do. It’s the same stunt DC Comics did with the re-imagined Batwoman and the altered Officer Montoya (now the current Question), a character from the 90’s Batman: The Animated Series that they brought into DC Proper and decided to frag up! Personally, I lost interest in Heroes half way through the first season. Outside of the Hiro character, they never really had fun with the concept, and even Hiro was “brought down to earth” after a while.
- Diamond is killing the periodical comic. Small press publishers are fighting to get their content made available, thanks to Diamond’s near monopoly on comics distribution. I hope someone topples these guys. They’ve been giving me headaches for years when it comes to what I buy, and I can imagine what it does to the comic store owners.
- Comic Book Resources looks further into the attempt to bring the original Captain America back after killing him off at the end of the aformentioned “Civil War” event. (Spoilers for Captain America: Reborn #1) I can’t even wrap my head around the insanity here.
In fact I think we’ll end on that, so to clear our heads for the finale tomorrow.
