It seems that when many of us on the pro-Spider-Marriage side (talk about your Civil Wars) are going through our comics and find something that proves that Peter and Mary Jane belong together (a little thing we like to call character development and evolution), we have the urge to post it. Such is the case with this scene from yesterday’s review of Spider-Man and Batman.
Peter just had a nightmare about Uncle Ben’s death, only the killer starts turning into the Joker. And look who is lying next to him.
Shame that DeMatteis was chased out by the nightmare the Clone Saga became. (On the other hand he did champion it, so he kind of got what he deserved.) Still, he was right. With his marriage to Mary Jane gone retroactively from continuity, Spidey’s life really has spiraled into chaos, as have his comics. (For that matter, so has the rest of the Marvel Universe, but I blame Civil War for that.)
Edit: There’s also this one from a recent newspaper strip that was in this week’s Comic Shop News.
