The Tef’aree decide to spare Emily. Meanwhile, the Advocate tries to poison Matthew against the Doctor, and almost overdoes it as he starts to think the Doctor may be trying to bump him off to have Emily all to himself. In fact, he finds one of the old consoles, but is too distrusting of the Doctor to save the ships, and they both explode. With the Tef’aree’s help, Emily teleports to just before the explosion and saves the day. The Advocate, however, has what she wanted from the TARDIS.

What they got right: Tony attempts to add to the DW mythos, and does a nice job. A race exists that even the Doctor believes to be a myth but isn’t. Nice to know that the Time Lords, even the Doctor, doesn’t know everything. A counter to the near-godlike status Russel T’s given him on the show. Will Matthew become the next Turlough, the next Adric, or his own man? Only time will tell.

What they got wrong: The art is fantastic as always, but there is one panel that is just a cropped version of the splash on the next page.

Recommendation: If you have to ask by now, you are new to this blog, as I’ve been recommending every issue of the ongoing since it first came out. This issue is no different.
