Sonic and Tails are trying to find Robotnik and Snively, who have gone into hiding repairing a certain Dark Legionnaire. Our heroes don’t find them, but they do find something else. Meanwhile, Sally decides that as much as she cares for Ken, she’s not over Sonic, and thinks he may feel the same way. On the Floating Island, Espio is welcomed back into the Chaotix, and tells Mighty that he has reason to suspect that his sister may still be alive. This sends Mighty on a quest to find her, with Ray tagging along.
What they got right: I’m of two minds on this comic. On the one hand, it does a nice job of wrapping up the “Iron Dominion” story arc. All the remaining plot point are hit on (save for more of Regina’s background and just how she gained control of the Clans), and the character interactions are wrapped up well.
What they got wrong: On the other hand, a lot of the story also feels like they’re setting up not Sonic the Hedgehog stories, but future stories for the Sonic Universe title. Which, by the way, is somewhat spoiled next issue-wise by this and the last two comics.
Recommendation: Finish the current “Journey to the East” arc in Universe, and then come for this and the previous comic.
Sadly, no moment stood out as a “best scene”.
