Mrs. Incredible and Mirage’s plane is shot down. Escaping in a submarine, they are attacked by robots once they reach the surface. They are in the service of Xerek (aka Bomb Voyage). Back home, Frozone and the Incredible boys are planning to get the guy who invaded Sunbright’s lab, especially after they do it again, but this time steal nothing. At home, Violet attempts to teleport her boyfriend to her house, but when Zander arrives, he’s in a strange costume and in a zombie like state.

What they got right: You know how I complain about Simon Furman’s usage of so many subplots at the same time? Well, he should take a cue from this comic. Three separate events going on at the same time (plus the running subplot about the note passer in the prison, which makes four), and it all runs together just fine.

What they got wrong: Last issue, Dash came back from the lab and said that Doc Sunbright and Violet were gone. There’s no mention of that here, not even a “good thing Violet kept you hidden behind her invisible shield” or “Dash didn’t see us in the panic room” or something. So what did happen?

(I also wonder if Landry found another coloring error. Just kidding.)

Recommendation: I need to create a “buy this book because it’s great” macro or something, because this book can use one.

And this is how he's survived his super hero career.

    Well… no. But yes.

If you look at issue 8 (specifically when Bob drops Violet off to work) Bob tells his daughter that he will pick her up before sundown. The scene in the car is supposed to clearly happen late at night, after the lab was closed and everyone had left. That’s where the coloring error took place. The change in the time frame (implied via color) was meant to cover an otherwise missing element of the story, without the change in time frame, you’re left wondering why Doc Sunbright and Violet aren’t at the lab.

So… thing is, Dash never said Violet and Sunbright were gone. He said “no one is there” and “they escaped”. He’s talking about the criminals vanishing before he (with his super speed) got there. But without the day/night transition, this is unclear.

Like I said before… these errors happen. Unfortunately in this case it affects the storytelling and the production is so far forward that it’s literally too late to make any adjustments to compensate.
