It’s all about Spike this issue, as we learn about his motivations. In between spending time with his men and being raked over the coals by his higher-ups, he’s also been tracking Transformers, particularly Constructicons. He tracks one (I want to say Scrapper, but he’s unnamed and redesigned) and rather brutally kills him because a friend of his was killed during one of Devastator’s subway attacks back in All Hail Megatron.
What they got right: I like the callback to All Hail Megatron, and a chance to see what Spike does during his downtime. The art is pretty darn good this issue.
What they got wrong: I actually dislike Spike more than I did before I read this issue. He’s decent with his men, but despite an alliance with the Autobots he’s still colder to Transformers than he should be, even to a Decepticon. Also, the fight at the end makes him look a little TOO badass. I like that the humans are able to fight back (although not as easily as the Autobots), but even making it somewhat believable doesn’t stop it from feeling “wrong”.
Recommendation: I hope this comic gets back to the Transformer vs. Transformer action instead of these “downtime” stories. But this issue was more interesting that the last one.

And this is how he treats his friends.
Up Next: “Best Scene of the Week” in the Weekly Wrap-Up. And this time there should be a winner.
