The story has fallen apart (no, that’s not part of the review, this is in story) now that Piggy/Queen had kidnapped Prince Kermit. Pepe turned the comatose Snow White into a kissing booth, Link is hired to play the King so Piggy can divorce the King and marry the prince, and an army of monsters is eating everyone up. Then everything blows up. With the Queen gone, Snow White is now no longer a princess but the queen (I can think of a couple of fictions that would argue that point) so now the “king” prawn Pepe can wake her and they all live happily ever after.
What they got right: I could totally see that monster attack taking place in a Muppet production.
What they got wrong: The ending. What the heck? It doesn’t feel like an homage (and both the explosions and penguins weren’t a regular occurrence) but it does feel like the writers just wrote themselves into a corner and just went with it.
Recommendation: For the first three issues, I’ve given a mild recommendation at best, but with this ending I really can’t give it a recommendation. Just get the regular series.
