Why is Godzilla opening this review? Because I have a request to make, and this is usually the most popular posting of the week. See at the end of the review.

First it’s time to check in with Goldbug, the artist formerly known as Bumblebee. Captured by RATT, the Throttlebots receive an ally in Barnett, who realizes that the Autobots may actually be on our side. (Took them long enough!) So he engineers their escape in new temp bodies while their real ones were destroyed. When Ratbat and the Predacons figure out what’s happened, they decide to chase Barnett and Buster, who our heroes turned to for help, into a mall. Why are they at the mall? You’ll soon find out, but it has nothing to do with Spacebooger plushies.

Round 7 of 12

The Battlefield: The Transformers #37 (Marvel Comics, February 1988)

The Promoters: Bob Budiansky (writer), José Delbo (penciler), Ian Akin & Brian Garvey (inkers), Bill Oakley (letterer), Nel Yomtov (colorist) and Don Daley (editor)

Attention, shoppers. Giant robot animals will be smashing their way through the mall. We recommend avoidance at all costs, and thank you for your patronage.

"And get me some of those new 'GoBots' I've heard so much about."

Now you’ve probably been wondering how the Throttlebots were hiding in the mall. Well, I did leave out a small part of Barnett’s escape plan.

The inspiration for the current "Transformers RPM" toy car line.

He had to sneak them out in RC cars. So when you can’t transform and the bad guys are bigger than you, strategy becomes your friend.

Still think they're cute, Tantrum?

Unfortunately, Ratbat has his sights on Goldbug (you’d think Yomtov would have at least colored them like their original bodies so we knew who’s who–hardly the biggest convenience device ever used in a comic), and his battery is almost drained. Thus we have the greatest scene in the comic…

"Hey doc, my neck is killing me."

Because that’s how Barnett rolls!

Come on, guys, I know there are more of you out there! Let’s get some votes…and more participants…out there!

Speaking of participants, are you a fan of Godzilla? Every right-thinking American is, even if the series comes from Japan. Now do you do video reviews and fancy yourself the next That Guy With The Glasses member? Or do you just feel like trying your hand, and showing your love for Godzilla, or know somebody who matches any of the above?

Hewy Lewis (no, not the singer) is trying to get a collaboration project for reviewers going, with Godzilla as the subject. This is something that’s been showing up quite a bit in the forums and gives the non-Channel Awesome posters a little more exposure. Well, there are still a bunch of slot open and I want to fill them with some good reviewers. These aren’t text articles, but video reviews, and since it’s Godzilla even yours truly will be involved.

Additionally, I plan to post them here at the Spotlight, partly because I’m in one, and partly because of my love for Godzilla. (Were this a Transformers collaboration, it would be the only thing that would interest me more, since a Doctor Who one would be difficult at best.) If you have your own internet series, this could offer you some exposure.

So if you’d like to try your hand at it, check this thread to see what’s still available and help us promote “international understanding through Godzilla”. (I think I got that through G-Fan, actually.)
