Sonic and Bunnie reluctantly answer a distress call from the Sandblast Freedom Fighters, a renegade group that Sonic’s met in the past. However, a EMP device damages Bunnie’s mechanical components and she is captured by the local Dark Egg Legion, under the command of her uncle! Events lead to Sonic having to side with the Sandblast jerks and Bunnie siding with the Legion jerks.
In a back-up story, Amy Rose meets Cream and her mom…and flatten their house with Snively’s latest attack machine. She offers them and the Chao a place in New Mobotropolis, which sets up the next Sonic Universe arc.
What they got right: The main story is fast-paced, but manages to introduce or re-introduce us to the participants in the struggle. You get a sense of who people are and what they’re about while (hopefully) still leaving something for the next issue. Also, since Cream (like her or not) is officially part of Sonic’s cast, she’s been overdue to get into the main comic after the cancellation of the alternate universe stories of Sonic X.
What they got wrong: I really don’t have any complaints. The pacing and art were well done.
Recommendation: While not one of most gripping issues, it was a good story and set-up for this arc. It’s worth getting.

It's Cream's expression that really makes this scene.
