Walter Wells and Joseph Simmons are brought in by Agent North to talk to Archibald Witwicky about the “iceman”. After listening to him and Reginald Danco (who hasn’t gone mad), they call up a few friends and go exploring. They will be the founders of Sector 7, the government Transformer watchers in the Movieverse.

What they got right: I do like the thought of the origin of the Sector 7 organization.

What they got wrong: Here’s where I have to spoil things on the ComiXology side, but first the art really doesn’t work for a comic. But it’s the story that bugs me. It’s a good story by itself, but it feels off for the Movieverse. I don’t think Jetfire met Megatron that soon, but I’d have to recheck the Tales of the Fallen. Also, Jetfire is used to explain the explosion that led to the Spanish-American War. Seriously? When we meet Wells and Simmons they’re battling some strange creatures that are out of place for the world the movies take place in. Finally, Barber himself has said that he doesn’t care what names the Founders were given in the Alternate Reality Game of the first movie, as he doesn’t see it as canon. That’s lame.

Recommendation: Why are they making me NOT recommend a Transformers comic with a good premise like the origin of Sector 7. This just doesn’t work for me.
