FINAL ISSUE
DC Comics (January 2011)
WRITER: Adam Beechen PENCILER: Ryan Benjamin INKER: John Stanisci COLORIST: David Baron LETTERER: Travis Lanham COVER: Dustin Nguyen EDITOR: Chris ConroyI really don’t want to write a review of this comic, but I’ve committed myself so here we go. This was admittedly the least offensive of the series. Dick, Terry, and Catwoman Beyond go after Clone Dick and give him whatfor. He end up impaled on one of the Bat robots but disappears which could mean he’s alive after all. That means the possibility of having to put up with “Hush Beyond” again?
The worst part is that there is no resolution between Dick and Bruce, much as Tim Drake had in Return of the Joker. Does that mean Dick will return in the ongoing and he and Bruce will be at odds? Sadly, I don’t care. I’ve written articles (thus and thus) on why this series failed, and I think that says it all.
Recommendation: Don’t bother with this comic and don’t bother with the ongoing. I thought that with Beechen having done work in the DCAU he might know what he’s doing. What he did was kill off good characters for no reason in a book that was more about Bruce than Terry.
