With the holidays and all I never got to post the trailer for Power Rangers Samurai. Now we have one better, an actual clip from the new series. And it has one of the things I really wanted to see: the new morph.
Now compare it to it’s Sentai counterpart, Shinkenger.
The obvious changes aside, the one that struck me is that the Ranger’s morphers don’t appear to transform into a brush like the Shinkengers’ do. In fact, the “Samurizer” looks like a scaled-down version of the “Shoduphone”. I’m not sure how I feel about that. On the one hand, the conversion element leads to a silly-looking phone.
On the other hand, at least the brush makes sense when your morph requires you to draw things in the air compared to just waving a phone around. Power Rangers Samurai debuts on Nickelodeon in February. You can follow it at the official series website or on Facebook.
