All-New Batman: The Brave & The Bold #3
DC Comics (March 2011)
WRITER: Sholly Fisch PENCILER: Rick Burchett INKER: Dan Davis COLOR: Heroic Age LETTERER: Travis Lanham ASSISTANT EDITOR: Chynna Clugston Flores EDITOR: Scott Peterson
Batman and the Flash are pulled into a simulation of Wonderland via the Mirror Master and the Mad Hatter (who tried taking control of the original Flash, Jay Garrick). There the duo face the Red Queen, and the Jabberwock before finding a way home.
What they got right: While still not spot-on accurate to the show, it’s kind of there (although the Batsymbol still looks off like last issue). The art works, as is the depiction of this version of Wonderland (even noting differences between the two Alice books).
What they got wrong: They got the crazy right, but maybe there’s too much in one comic or something. I just didn’t get into it as much as you’d think. And there’s a scene with Batman wearing a top hat riding a Jabberwock wearing a beanie. Because comics are awesome.
Recommendation: I can’t put my finger on why I didn’t enjoy it more, but I did enjoy it and that’s what counts. Worth a look through at least.

What, did you think I was lying?
