Grabbing a comic at random can sometimes lead to a great fight. Sometimes it leads to a short fight. Tonight is the latter for me, as the whole fight is one page. However, it’s also a short story.
I really don’t watch the Ben 10 franchise anymore. When Alien Force started, it was actually rather good. Then Ben developed an ego that was cute at 10, but annoying at 15 (where he’s supposed to be now). It was fine for an arc, but nothing’s brought him down to Earth, and the clincher for me was when he used his powers so he could sneak out of his girlfriend’s tennis match to attend a Sumo Slammers movie premier. Do you really have to see it opening day? So now he’s a jerk, but this story is from when he was still a decent guy–and met himself when he was supposed to be a jerk.

Fight Life round 7
The Battlefield: Cartoon Network Action Pack #41 (DC Comics, November 2009) “The Past Is The Key To The Future”
The Promoters: Jason Hall (writer), Min S. Ku (artist), Travis Lanham (letterer), Heroic Age (colors), and Sean Ryan (editor)
Ben and his friends find a DNAlien device that’s been buried for years. Ben remembers finding a piece of it which is hopefully the key to turning it off (spoiler: it is) before it goes boom. so using a time-travel device Kevin just happens to have (hello, cheap plot device) our trio (including Gwen, in case you thought I forgot about her) head to the past, and not to play terrible games.
Ben takes on his Big Chill form in case he gets spotted by his past self. Which he does, with the younger Ben going Heatblast on his future self.

Stop hitt...nah, too easy.
Now had this been Big Chill versus XLR-8, you’d have my two favorite aliens of each era. So in the fight between Ben 10 and Ben 10, Ben 10 wins. Surprised?
