The All-New Batman: The Brave & The Bold #4
DC Comics (April 2011)
WRITER: Sholly Fisch PENCILER: Rick Burchett INKER: Dan David COLORIST: Gabe Elateb LETTERER: Travis Lanham ASSISTANT EDITOR: Chynna Clugston Flores EDITORS: Scott Peterson & Jim Chadwick
Eros, god of desire and son of Aphrodite, thinks Wonder Woman is failing in her mission to spread love and uses his arrows to make her and Batman fall in love. At the wedding, a horde of supervillains attack (typical) and Eros gets what’s coming to him.
What they got right: Cameos by every character hero and villain to appear in the comic version (and some from the show) as well as Wonder Woman villains who haven’t was a good touch (granted, the Haunted Tank wouldn’t have worked but somehow Sugar and Spike appear) and it is a good enough plot for Valentine’s Day.
What they got wrong: Why is Dick wearing his Robin costume. He should be Nightwing now, as he was in the show. That’s twice for this comic and Fisch has had more than enough time to realize that (as well as Tim being snubbed from this cartoon as well as Young Justice) and should start reflecting the change if he’s going to keep appearing.
Recommendation: At least give it a read. It is a fun story.
