That’s right. I went there.
Well, folks, you’re Winged Shadow has finally given up and been dragged closer to the modern world. After all, I should be promoting myself better for all future goals. That means I finally joined Twitter (God help me). Don’t expect to see what I’m eating or what I’m watching, and since I don’t drink my tweets should be rather boring.
Most of the time it will just be autopostings from my two WordPress sites or me bugging someone I’m keeping an eye on for future article fodder or in the hopes they’re checking on my work but hopefully I can expand my readership base. Otherwise, it will be as dead as my MySpace page, which is why I’m still not going for Facebook.
So as you count the days to Twitter’s imminent demise (now that I’m officially there), check out some news from around the internet.
comics
- I just don’t care enough to get upset when I hear someone at Marvel claim “we’re going to kill a character every quarter“. That’s how bad it’s gotten, folks, when I can’t even consider that for a full article.
- Speaking of jerk moves, look what Wizard is doing to its subscribers now that it’s gone away.
- Here’s a list of comics that will show up during “Flashpoint.”
- Here’s a list of comics that will be canceled thanks to “Flashpoint”.
- Sad news for Superman fans, Jerry Siegel’s widow has gone to join him.
television/movies
- In Indonesia, Supergirl likes to cosplay as Spider-Woman. Talk about poor fact checking.
- An early draft for a movie set during World War 2 in the Middle East may be showing a huge bias against Israel.
- The rebooted Spider-Man movie has a name. And a cool costume.
video games
- I’m assuming students, but at the University of Amsterdam they found a way to hack a Kinect and create a Superman video game. Needs work (fix those cape physics, guys), but still pretty cool idea. (h/t: Bleeding Cool)
- Voltron is finally getting his own video game. About bloody time!
- The favored video games of video game makers.
- The scrapped idea for a Gamecube Legend of Zelda controller.
- D2 Brigade (usually an anime review site) member Vixen begins her new “History of Gaming” series with a look at what role a game called Bagatelle played in interactive gaming.
- Why didn’t someone tell me You Don’t Know Jack was back? I love that game.
- Portal 2‘s pre-order incentives have been announced. If I have the funds I may go with Amazon’s.
- In a controversy about the game Bulletstorm who’s in the right, Fox News or the Escapist.com?
- Want to help design a video game?
in other news
- Sorry, Detroit. No Robocop statue for you.
- The Clutter Reports: Another multi-page “review set” featuring five Spider-Man action figures.
- This Week’s Cracked: You wouldn’t ordinarily connect Buffy and Topanga, even if you knew who both characters were. However, The 5 Most Maddeningly Unresolved TV Plotlines also throws in Italian mobsters, a government agent, and a certain not-about-superheroes show. No, the one that doesn’t screw with Superman.

Marvel Adventures: Super Heroes V2 #11

Well, I’m off to ignore my Twitter feed. Seriously, I may mass use it for a couple months longer than I thought and then watch it slowly die away. The fact that this blog reached two years is an achievement, folks.
