Love & Capes: Ever After #2

IDW Publishing (March 2011)

STORY/ART: Thomas F. Zahler
EDITOR: Denton Tipton
OFFICIAL WEBSITE: http://www.loveandcapes.com

Mark and Abby have now bought their building, but the troubles aren’t over. When her parents come to see the building, the Crusader is turned into a kid. When they get through that, they have an even harder task: revealing Mark’s identity to Abby’s parents.

What they got right: This comic is just lots of fun. Zahler has created a great world with likable characters and a love of the genre.

What they got wrong: Unless these came from his website, the style he’s developed for webcomics is obvious. Sure it takes nothing away, but there’s some actual super hero stuff in here. What else am I going to complain about? 🙂

Recommendation: This comic should be mandatory reading for the Spider-Writers (there’s even a “Brand New Day” joke) to show them that a married superhero can indeed be an interesting story. For that matter, plenty of other comic writers should be reading this, too.

Actually, the dog was surprised, too.
