I have jury duty this week (unless Crohn’s Disease is an issue) so I’m working light this week. So instead of an article by me here is a set of videos by SF Debris.

Ever wonder what actually happened to all those missing episodes? Well. the aformentioned SF Debris did he research and did a three-part video series on it called Lost In Time: Wiped, Junked, But Not Forgotten about why episodes were destroyed and the efforts to find them again.

  1. Part 1: The events that led to the destruction of many classic episodes and the beginning of the BBC’s archive.
  2. Part 2: The hunt for classic episodes goes around the world, from movie studios to…church basements?
  3. Part 3: What about the 108 episodes lost and probably staying that way? Fans and the BBC attempt to recreate them.

SF Debris will also be reviewing these “lost stories” as well as other series (check out his reviews bad Star Trek episodes) on his Blip page. He doesn’t seem to update his website often these days, but check that out as well.
