At another concert, Mina is interrupted by Geoffrey, who declares Ixis Naugus the true king of Mobotropolis. As he holds off the other Freedom Fighters, Sonic fails to stop the wizard from invading the council chambers, where Sonic, armed with the Sword of the Acorns, stands ready for battle.
In the back-up story, Robotnik and Snively enter Feist’s zone to obtain a Chaos Emerald.
What they got right: We get at least part of Hershey’s fate, but I’ll be curious to see if we get more next issue. Ixis Naugus is probably the best not-Robotnix villain in Sonic’s foes list and seeing him back should make for an interesting battle. Seeing Robotnik and Snively racing was a fun side story.
What they got wrong: Whichever “king” (Max or Naugus) he’s working for, Geoffrey St. John is still my least favorite Sonic character and I wouldn’t miss him if he never showed up again.
Recommendation: I’m not sure what the countdown to Genesis is (outside of a Sonic events and DC & Marvel have soured me on ANY event in any company), but this appears to be an important story to it, so it should at least be given a read.

So Sonic wants to be a barber when he grows up? I wouldn't have called that.
