So last week we had Spider-Man, Luke Cage, and Megatron. That means one of them must appear. It would have been Luke Cage were it not for the fact that my Marvel collection is a mess, so I’ll have to play some games to get the order I wanted. In the meantime, we can still use Spider-Man.

This entry is the first meeting of the web-spinner and the Rhino, often considered a major Spider-foe, but not the first appearance of the Rhino. Around this time Peter and Betty were officially over, Pete started checking out one of his college classmates, Gwen (frickin’) Stacey, and Aunt May kept trying to introduce him to their neighbor’s niece. (I wonder how that turned out.) No time for romance or to play with his new motorcycle, though. There’s a rhino charging and his credit card is already maxed out.

The Promoters: Stan Lee (writer), John Romita (artist), M. Demeo (inker), & Art Simek (letterer). No editor is listed, and I suspect the art has been either remastered or recolored.

The Rhino has been hired to capture John Jameson–wait, I’ve always wondered. How does this guy plan to spend any of this money? At this point he’s trapped in his costume and it’s not like people don’t know who he is. At any rate, Spidey is there to stop him.

"I do this to him throughout the comic, folks."

Luckily, Spider-Man is rather strong…

Strangely nobody saw a tiny Sherman tank...

…and the Rhino isn’t too bright.

And thus Bill & Ted were trapped in 1966 until the sliding timeline took effect.

Did I mention that Spider-Man is really strong?

The sound effects. Definitely the sound effects. It's why I do it.

Thus the Rhino passes out, John Jameson is safe, and JJ is still JJ.
