Godzilla’s attack continues, but he’s not alone. In Mexico, Anguirus appears and makes his way to Texas. In Moscow a kid steals a museum artifact, only to have it hatch Rodan as birds fall dead from the sky in flocks.
What they got right: The new monsters know how to make an entrance. The fisherman who lost his kids shows up again (for the last time). The pacing has improved from the previous issue.
What they got wrong: Then again, I’d like to see the monsters (re)introduced one at a time to drag it out, but that’s just me and hardly a major complaint. For those of you who complained about the way Obama…sorry, President Ogden (yeah, right)…was depicted last issue, the Texas governor is full of stereotype. Feel better now? I sure don’t.
Recommendation: An improvement over last issue, with some good moments and great visuals. Ignore the bad stereotypes and enjoy.
