Aliens engaged in a war end up coming to Earth when the Prince crashes and goes nuts thanks to exposure to our atmosphere and a misunderstanding with the local superheroes. His sister comes to retrieve her brother, and let’s just say things don’t go well.
I want to give this comic something of a break since this was an self-published comic he and his friends and…his sister or wife or whatever, are his staff. Plus he has some good concepts and even character designs here. The problem is a few of the designs seem to be copied from other comic companies. Not all of them, but I do recognize some from minor Marvel characters. Additionally, perspective hits the occasional wall and the words change size to fit into the text, meaning some lines of dialog are hard to read.
Where this comic fails is not in the ideas, but in the execution. He obviously wanted the characters in a certain spot and jumped a few hoops to get them there. The characters fight just to have them fight, and frankly both the heroes and the Andromeda people are jerks and there’s nobody likeable.
No matter what curve you grade this on, Andromeda simply serves as proof the 90’s didn’t know what they were doing when it came to comics. He has some good ideas and most of the logos are good, but the execution just leaves too much to be desired. Really not worth your time.
