Superman now must deal with a creature that turns everything into ice, and is working through a friend of his. Meanwhile, someone at the Planet wants to write an expose about how Superman is a threat to Metropolis because he’s there.

What they got right: The art is still as good as the first two issues. The fight, while short, is well done and whatever my problems are with undoing the Supermarriage I do like this version of Lois.

What they got wrong: OK, DCNU Superman is finally getting to me. We’re three issues in and he’s still all mopey. Even Lois, Perry, Jimmy, and the new character Heather know it. Something is bugging him and it’s not just the attacks that are designed to prove he can’t save everybody. Oh, and the fact that the theme is “people trying to prove Superman can’t save everybody” is ticking me off, especially at the first arc of a new DC Universe.

Recommendation: I’m starting to lose interest in this new version of Superman. He’s very mopey, and the theme seems to be how awesome he’s not. This is not what I pick up a superhero story to see. I’m not sure I’ll be grabbing the rest of this story arc, if any more issues at all.

"And somebody get me a new cape."
