If you know the YouTube team of Transformers fans Randall Ng and DR. SMOOV, it’s probably their official Botcon trailers and comedy bits like this:
Who knew Optimus had a potty mouth? Anyway, tonight I’m showing off two shorts that are actually quite serious. My hope is that the team collectively known as NGSMOOV will consider doing a full-length or longer short film in this style with a complete story. Here are two examples of what they can do when they serious.
The first short, Transformers: Generation One, shows how Michael Bay SHOULD have done the first movie. Sure, the toy-based character models STILL don’t work in live-action, but I’m talking story concept here.
The second film is a GI Joe team-up, with Greg Berger, one of the original series voice actors, coming in to play a couple of his old characters.
You can see some of this footage with continuations of the scenes in a music video for Stan Bush’s “Your Time”. Both Randall Ng and DR. SMOOV also have their individual YouTube pages. They also have a joint website. Check them out. Oh, and I have to show this:
