While going through articles for the next Cracked Clearing House article I found I wasn’t really in the mood to do a lot of article reading yesterday. However, I did come across this posting by Seanbaby, looking at some of the oddest villains the Super Friends ever faced, complete with the actual short.
Now admittedly the writing pre-Super Powers Team was a bit on the silly side at times. However, while most of my love for the show is nostalgia and my childhood, I do honestly enjoy some of the crazy stuff this show would come up with. The 70’s and 80’s were a different time and when the FCC, Bureau of Standards for the network, and various uptight parents groups came together to make sure there was as little violence as possible, sometimes to bizarre levels, Saturday Morning writers had to come up with new ways to deal with thing. The results are hilarious, either on purpose or by accident and I do still love the show.
Although even I find it hard to get through some episodes of the first season. They tended to drag.
